Bringing a company’s directors or senior managers together to talk about direction is one thing. Making effective use of the opportunity and achieving a worthwhile outcome is something else.
Odyssey is skilled at planning and managing group processes that help senior executive teams communicate more effectively. Invariably, the success of the meeting or retreat depends on the work we do beforehand… understanding the issues, exploring the different points of view, researching and assembling helpful background data, and designing processes that will meet the needs of individuals as well as the needs of the group.
At the event, our processes and our facilitation skills help the group work together to achieve common understanding and agreement about direction and priorities. Our ability to quickly grasp complex issues allows us to help the group progress and our ability to remain flexible, able to respond to what is emerging, ensures the real purpose of the exercise always takes precedence.
A division of McConnnell Group, Hawkins Construction had established a new business unit. Odyssey were engaged to help all parties arrive at a common view of what the new business was about and what the growth strategy should be.
Humes Pipelines Chief Executive, Amantran Gibbes, brought Odyssey in to help him create a shared understanding of his vision for the company among his senior and middle managers and to help them think about engaging the rest of the organisation.
It was important to Hastings District Council Chief Executive, Murray Gilbertson, that every single staff member had the opportunity to express their views on the Council’s long term plan. Odyssey were engaged to facilitate a series of consultation workshops and summarise the key messages for his senior management team.
