Odyssey approaches such assignments from the perspective of the customer… before thinking about what we have to sell, what is it they want to buy? The hardest thing for many organisations is to step through the looking glass and understand that success comes from helping customers get what they want.

Then we apply our skills and experience to clearly and persuasively communicating the message. We strive to create simplicity from complexity and to build a narrative that engages the reader in such a way that they have confidence that you have understood what’s important to them and have the capability to help them achieve that.

Odyssey were part of the team that helped New Zealand win hosting rights for Rugby World Cup 2011. We contributed to the bid strategy, helped coordinate the bid itself and wrote many of the key communications, including the bid booklet, letters, presentations and speeches.

Odyssey’s help with obtaining funding for Auckland’s public transport projects led to the Ministry of Transport engaging us to help communicate New Zealand’s transport challenges in a public discussion document.

When Project Crimson lost its long-term sponsor, Odyssey were asked to help find a replacement. We worked with the trustees on their strategy and prepared the communication materials that helped convince Meridian Energy that this was an ideal opportunity.
